You Can't Solve A Problem While You're In It.

And you can't achieve a good fit without fitting tools and knowledge!

Yet that's what most people do when they're having difficulties with their dog.
They go to 'the problem' and try to fix it 'in situ', without being adequately prepared.

The reality is that you need a plan and a structure so you can break down and organise the various parts of the problem. Then you need to address and resolve these various parts, individually, before putting it back together again.

So we modelled the way in which we plan and structure and created
The Training Triangle because we want to turn your stumbling blocks into stepping stones.

The Training Triangle

  1. breaks down the areas where most people and their dogs have problems
  2. shows you how to approach these in a different way
  3. demonstrates how to create the structure you need to progress
  4. shows you how to open a communication chanel for you and your dog
  5.  helps you to work though and resolve your difficulties
  6.  helps deepen the relationship between you and your dog.

If you want this sort of relationship with your dog, then start with The Training Triangle.

Beyond The Training Triangle.....

The Dog Bond Metaphysical

The Dog Bond Metaphysical is about understanding the physical and non physical elements of 'the dog bond', which are not easily experienced.
That's what we do; we help people experience what is not easily experienced. If our clients already had the relationship they wanted, they wouldn't be asking for our help. We delve deep into what's metaphysically going on between you and your dog and that includes factors which are outwith the clients knowledge. We set out to help dogs....and to do that, we need to help their people.

Why Metaphysical?

Relationships are built upon feelings, energy and awareness, each of which can express themselves in nuanced ways which people can find tricky to interpret or even recognise. Every moment of every day dogs express their thoughts, feelings and individual personalities through their energy, however these expressions may not be witnessed, acknowledged or understood. Dogs are also aware of energy and respond in kind. When you learn how dogs think you'll be amazed at what we call 'the matrix flow' and how this impacts their interactions.
In our relationships with our dogs, this non physical reality is as present and valid as any other reality. It's a continuum in the state of being between us.

The Dog Bond

We work with Dog Guardians who;
  • understand dogs are individual beings with unique personalities and want to foster that individuality
  • appreciate their dog needs and wants to communicate with them
  • want more than simply 'good behaviour'
  • struggle with 'complex dogs' e.g. nervous dogs, reactive dogs
  • have taken on a rescue (domestic or foreign)
  • find it hard to set appropriate boundaries
  • are experiencing 'difficulties' on a daily basis
  • are struggling with a 'problem' nobody else can fix
  • believe there's more to the dog that's in front of them but they don't know how to find it

HOW do we help?

We are insanely focused upon detail and when we're around dogs, we notice details that most people overlook. It's all in the sound of a dog's voice, the pitch and tone, the twitch of an ear, the smoothness or not of a dog's coat, the energy or lack thereof in that moment...we see patterns or the breakdown of patterns in and around the life of a dog. Dogs run their lives using very detailed patterns and we work with the building blocks of those patterns.

Our aim is to help you understand the same things so that you and your dog can benefit from this communication.
Clients often say that we have a better relationship with their dog than they do. It's because we communicate with them on many levels. We are open to this level of understanding.
We want you to be at this level too.

The heart of The Dog Bond is all about detail.

The Training Triangle is your starting point because people need to become accustomed to working with a new level of detail.

Once you're familiar with that, you can move on.

Reactive Rovers

The Reactivity Recipe removes 'complexity' from an already overwhelming situation. We can put you and  your dog on a pathway to peace by teaching you how to activate the 'safety systems' within you and your dog.

Nervous, anxious and otherwise 'compromised' dogs

The Calm Centre is a very specialised procedure wherein we teach you how to help your dog to be 'grounded' so they can better regulate their threshold response.
This is an 'on application' service.

Testimonials

Truly satisfied customers

Pat and Han have helped us massively to socialise our adopted Dalmatian rescue from Spain, 'Marshall'.
Marshall was extremely anxious and frightened of everything as he had spent the first 18 months of his life chained to a pole in a yard. He was reactive to everything, coming across as aggressive, at times. Pat and Han worked with us and, over ten months we have turned this around. We now have a happy, loving dog who can, interact and be sociable with dogs of all sizes, is nurtured by Pat and Han, feels loved and secure in their care and training and is still learning every day. One of the best things is they made it fun and never gave up on us even when the challanges were many. Thank you Pat and Han. We can't thank you enough!

We were having a couple of issues with our one year old spaniel and spoke to Han and Pat about doing training. They recommened 1-1 training with us and our dog Mabel. We cannot explain the difference in Mabel after only 3 sessions with Pat and Han. They both explained exactly what we needed to do first and learnt the basics before starting with the harder stuff. All the training was fun and we learned different things each week to build on between the sessions. They both taught us why Mabel was behaving in a certain manner and what it meant to her and how to understand her better. It's only been a few months since the training finished and we can really see a massive difference in Mabel especially when out walking now, where she doesn't pull nearly as much as she did. It's made walking her a lot more enjoyable for both of us! We all had so much fun training and I couldn't recommend them enough!

The training provided by Pat and Han has helped us to bond even better with our dogs. We have had one-to-one sessions focusing on calm and interactive play and the advice we have received has always been spot on. As a result, our rescue dogs, Pippa and Rover, have developed well balanced characters. We can recommend Pat and Han to anyone who wants to improve their relationship with their dog.

I have to say how much I enjoyed training with Pat and Han....my cheeks would be 'sore' from smiling! It was wonderful to see Alfie doing all the things I knew he could do even although I hadn't been able to tap into that. This is why they were training me! We'd had a trainer before however that wasn't an enjoyable experience and none of us wanted to be in that frame of mind. With Han and Pat it was so different....we all had a good time and learned so much!

I can't begin to tell you how much of a difference I see in both my dogs. They  are noticeably calmer and our pup is a much happier dog now. Her stress/anxiety/nervousness is lessening by the day and she is really starting to come out of her shell. The difference is incredible, even in the short time we've been with Pat and Han and I'm so excited to see where we can go with both.

We were having some issues relating to walking our dog, especially with this being the first puppy we had cared for on our own. Pat offered to do some one to one training with us. She explained how to better handle our dog and demonstrated what a little structure could achieve. Her advice was extremely helpful and she also continued to help training Raya and we are very pleased with the results. Pat also explained to us the behaviours and traits that come along with the Shiba Inu, although we had read about this ourselves Pat managed to explain it to us in a way that was more understandable to us. She gave us examples relating specifically to Raya which made us better understand her behaviour and temperament. She has also given us advice on how best to accommodate the high intelligence and active brain that come with the breed. Pat is always more than happy to give advice when we require it.
